Some interesting facts on our new probable unit at blk 628 (gotta enlarge map below to see)
Distance to:

Jurong Pt & Boon Lay MRT- ~ 735m
Pioneer MRT - ~535m
JW Stadium - ~500m
Market @ blk 961-966 - ~650m
Pioneer Mall - No need measure lah, 5mins walk hehe

Just for comparison, the distance from dd's home to BV MRT is abt 677m

Many people are giving us their comments on dd's and my decision to buy the house: here's a summary of them

my mum:
-why buy so big?
-why so gan cheong?
-why dun buy new one?

dd's mum:
- why buy such a big house and so early?

I think mabbe from their pt of view all their worries are valid cos I've just started working, so career not yet "established" yet, buying a house is a big burden and responsibility on my shoulders now...

but i think no1 really understands our situation either... cos of a few factors the most important one being : DD CANNOT SAVE $$ (if u try to plot a graph of her savings u will b able to see it very clearly), my own perception, she is MUCH better at spending them, when she save a small sum of $$ she will have "ideas" on spending them away (usu on unmeaningful things) like the car lah, $199 mp3 player(which she thinks it's cheap, try saying it now) etc... so i think it's better to let her "spend" her $$ on something much more meaningful then slowly circulate them to the society...but of cos still have to make sure she really can do it...(though I still have some doubts)

Big house- have to consider that dd has a medium size dog which really need the space to run about... else i heard they will have some psychological disorder watever... plus dd keep pestering me say she wan to get another dog, no big space how to accomdate 2 dogs? some more dd dun like smal dogs.. personally I also dun like too confined spaces...although a 5rm would suffice for me, I am willing to compromise a little (if the price is right)

New flats? it's good but then we gotta fork out quite a big to renovate it from scratch... wah... headache scare to think of all the cost... how to save and when can save...

in life, it's all abt give and take right? u win some and u lose some...

too fast? considering the price of flats now, plus the 30yrs loan, i think it might b a good idea to start early then can end early wat right? now i m 26, by the time loan ends 57 liao another 5yrs then retire already... haha dun wan to pay until i retire sill haben pay finish leh...

now my goal is to save as much as possible to make my house dream come through... kampatei ,jia you jia you

Went house viewing today, not gg to post any pics cos it's still premature, because we haben got the keys yet which means the house is still not "monkdees manor"

Oh 1st impression:
the overall is better than wat i expected...walls and floors are quite clean
in addtion we still have the following:
1)ceramic flooring for living room & paraquet flooring for rooms
2) window grills
3) a built in closet for every room (although the color for the one in the master bedroom is not the color i like...anyway can change that)
4)kitchen cabinets with a built in hob (no stove yet)

Needs to be done
1) window grills starting to corrode, one even broke
2) no lights
3) doors are quite dirty and handles are abit corroded
4) toilet accessories are corroding
5) closet door corroding
6) walls need repainting

We learnt that the unit was surrended in 2001 (keys was handled over in 1999), no lighting means that the prev owner had never live in the unit before...
Oh and the most important thing is that i do not have that "uneasy" feeling when i went into the unit...

tis is my feelings, dunno abt dd's

this is the view from the unit's balcony... if u look closely this is made up using 2 pics
